Independence Has Its First Local Radio Station

The FM radio station KAJC has been on the air since 2005 became a locally owned station in 2010.

The format has always been focused on Bible teachings, and since July 2010 a good measure of contemporary Christian music has been added. With the local leadership plans are developing to become more of a local information resource including local public service announcements, interviews from local leaders regarding current items of interest.

The station is licensed as non-commercial so advertising is prohibited. Underwriting and Sponsorships are permitted which is a popular method of fund raising for non-commercial broadcasting.

KAJC broadcasts on 90.1 FM which has coverage in Independence, Monmouth, Dallas, and Albany with more limited coverage in Corvallis, I-5 south of Salem through Coburg, and as far east as Lebanon.
